This storm stops if Razor dies. Targets the lowest HP unit in the area.

Skills Build

Lv 1 : Plasma Field
Lv 2 : Unstable Current/Static Link
Lv 3 : Plasma Field
Lv 4 : Static Link/Unstable Current
Lv 5 : Plasma Field
Lv 6 : Eye of the Storm
Lv 7 : Plasma Field
Lv 8-10 : Unstable Current
Lv 11 : Eye of the Storm
Lv 12-14: Static Link
Lv15: Stats
Lv 16: Eye of the Storm
Lv 17-25: Stats

Plasma Field is maxing first as it's your primary nuke and farming tools. The second skill choice is depends on your enemies. If your enemies is melee, Static Link will be a good tool to increase your damage with cheap mana and improve last hitting. Not to mention the enemy damage also will be reduced. If your enemies are range, it's harder to cast and maintain the link. But still, take it on level 4 just in case a close battle is happen, this spell could be handy and the mana cost is really cheap.

Unstable Current is maxed after Plasma Field because you will benefits from the speed bonus and the purge will help you from getting harassed. Static Link and Eye of the Storm is need to maintained within the range, hence Unstable Current will help you chase and keep the distance.

Eye of the Storm taken as soon as possible. When chasing or ganking activate it. This skill is not too effective if there's a lot of enemy creeps, because it will attack the lowest target instead of hero. But if there's nobody else there, your enemy will be crying while hit by the storm. This skill also gives you a lot of kill on team battle, because it will automatically hit enemy with the lowest HP.

Items Build

Core Items

2 Bracers and STR Treads cover your low HP. Razor skills is need to kept on certain distance but he is lack of slow mechanism. Diffusal Blade provide that. With this items build, you can rape a single enemy fast. Purge your enemy, cast Static Link, cast Eye of the Storm & Plasma Field. Keep chasing and attack your enemies while your damage goes up thanks to Static Link. If your enemy is alone, usually you will get an easy kill. Especially if they are Agi or Int. If your Purge charge is empty, update your Diffusal immediately.

Luxuries

Buy a BKB if your enemies has many disabler, they will want you die fast on team battle because of your ultimate. If they lack of disabler, skip BKB and build Yasha continue with Ultimate Orb to finish your Manta Style. Manta is a great items for Razor as now it gives +10% movement speed bonus, not to mention it also gives you +26 Agility,+10 Strength,+10 Intelligence and +15% Attack Speed. The images also can help you distract your enemies when they try focusing on you. If the battle is not finished, buy Talisman of Evasion to increase your survivability. The 25% evasion is very neat. Finish it to Butterfly if the battle continues. Skadi is also viable since it gives you health, mana and damage. The only problem is it's very expensive.

Well, the new Razor is more fun to play. Now he is very versatile and can use many set of items build.

RAZOR THE LIGHTNING REVENANT
IPB Image

Razor is a lightning incarnate. It is a living being, capable only of unleashing it’s tremendous electrical power to anything and everything nearby. The only indication of sentience from it is its ability to control its surges, which never seems to actually strike any it would call friend. Like its namesake, it cuts to the bone, with speed and accuracy, sometimes jumping from one thing to another. It’s unnatural form gives it speed, and a thirst for blood. It is a force to be reckoned with, and only the strong dare face it.
~1.Pros and Cons~

Pros

  • Long range (550)
  • High dps with frenzy
  • Nice early game nuke
  • Ultimate which helps in farming a lot
  • Good farmer
  • High movement speed with Unholy Fervor

Cons

  • Pretty fragile
  • No good escape mechanism
  • No disable

~2. Skill Descriptions~

IPB Image
Frenzy

Increases attack speed for 20 seconds, at the cost of taking additional damage.

Level 1 - 25% increase, 5% damage taken increase.
Level 2 - 50% increase, 10% damage taken increase.
Level 3 - 75% increase, 15% damage taken increase.
Level 4 - 100% increase, 20% damage taken increase.

Cooldown: 40 seconds.

Level 1: 80 mana, 40 sec cooldown.
Level 2: 90 mana, 40 sec cooldown.
Level 3: 110 mana, 40 sec cooldown.
Level 4: 130 mana, 40 sec cooldown.

The skill which increases your dps by a lot. 100% IAS is nothing to joke about! However you should be careful when using this skill, because it makes you awfully vulnerable to gangs. I usually use frenzy only when trying take down towers fast, when it is a 1v1 situation or it is a team battle with a tank initiating.

IPB Image
Chain Lightning

Hurls a bolt of damaging lightning at a target enemy that jumps to nearby enemies. Each jump deals less damage.

Level 1 - 75 damage, jumps 3 times.
Level 2 - 150 damage, jumps 5 times.
Level 3 - 225 damage, jumps 7 times.
Level 4 - 300 damage, jumps 9 times.

Cooldown: 11 seconds.

Level 1: 90 mana, 11 sec cooldown.
Level 2: 105 mana, 11 sec cooldown.
Level 3: 125 mana, 11 sec cooldown.
Level 4: 145 mana, 11 sec cooldown.

Your only nuke. Chain lightning is the core of this new build here, which requires you to spam it early game to gain lane dominance. It has a long range of 700 so you can use it safely. It is also your main farming skill mid-late game because you do not have any more use for the mana.

IPB Image
Unholy Fervor

Increases the movement speed and life regeneration rate of Razor.

Level 1 - 3% movement, 0.5 hp/sec regeneration bonus.
Level 2 - 5% movement, 1.0 hp/sec regeneration bonus.
Level 3 - 8% movement, 1.5 hp/sec regeneration bonus.
Level 4 - 10% movement, 2.0 hp/sec regeneration bonus.

Passive

Unholy Fervor, your regeneration and movement speed increase skill all in one. Many people like to get this early game, forgoing the stats bonus. That would make him a glass cannon and is not good. The regeneration is okay but the movement speed is what is so cool about this skill, giving you the movement speed bonus of a free SnY.

IPB Image
Storm Seeker

Summons a storm that permanently follows Razor. Every few seconds, it strikes Razor’s enemies with savage lightning bolts. Warning: As part of the leveling on this ability, your hero will be stunned for 0.01 seconds. Don’t level it as you are teleporting away.

Level 1 - Deals 60 damage.
Level 2 - Deals 90 damage.
Level 3 - Deals 120 damage.

Passive

The ultimate of razor works well for farming and chasing. DO NOT ADD THE SKILL WHEN YOU ARE TELEPORTING.

~4. Reasons for Skills~

Stats VS Unholy Fervor
Stats is awesome compared to Unholy Fervor as Unholy Fervor only increases some movement speed and regeneration but Razor’s life will be still like paper, A level 5 razor with 3 levels of chain lightning and 2 levels of stats added will have 758 hp with 377 mana, compared to another razor with the same level but adds UF, he has 682 hp with 325 mana, considerably lesser than the stats skill build.

The stupid storm seeker spoils my last hits!
I hear this from some people but I think playing razor long enough, it is pretty easy to estimate when to last hit even with storm seeker, besides it does help in farming and pushing with the extra damage, when you fail to last hit and the creep has little life left, storm seeker is there for the last hit!

Frenzy so early?! Suicide!
Frenzy is very flexible on Razor. If you feel that you are owning mid game and can take some more attack speed, go on and add frenzy. However if you have some problems surviving frenzy can be replaced with stats for increased hp and mana. After all, we want the customers to be happy!

~5a. Item Build I~

-====================================-
2Circlets + 1Tango+ 2Clarity Potions (560)
Finish 2 Wraith Bands (550)
Empty Bottle (600)
Boots Of Speed (500)
Maelstorm (3360)
Point Booster (1200)
Eaglehorn(Complete Mjollnir) (3400)
Boots of Travel recipe (2200)
Complete Eye Of Skadi (6400)
-====================================-

Total Cost: 18570 gold
Why This Build?
This first build is the build that was first introduced in the guide. It provides more damage, more survivability and more early game lane control. This build should usually be gotten if your team needs a late game dps hero more than a pusher.

Early Game Items
IPB ImageORIPB ImageAND
IPB ImageANDIPB Image

Wraiths Or Bracers?

Wraith bands are gotten early game as they are the basic items and provide necessary stats for razor.
Bracers can be taken early game if they have nukers which are very troublesome and bracers will help you survive in your lane longer.

Want a drink?

Bottle is gotten for the staying in lane potential which can allow you to farm very well as well as harassing.

What a lot of people don’t realize is that bottle can be sold. Essentially you are paying 700 for 600hp and 300~(?) mana every fountain trip. If you put it together, and assuming you make a fountain trip once every, say, 6 minutes, and find 3 runes with bottle during the course of the game, you will more than cover the cost in tangos and clarities.

Also bottle as mentioned heals much quicker, is infinitely better in ganks and surprise heals. Then you can sell it later, something you cant do with other consumables, effectively making the cost 350 gold - definitely the best value I have ever seen.

Pretty much sums up what I wanted to say.
Bottle is much more cost efficient than tangos and clarities because it effectively only costs 350 gold (after sold) and has infinite amount of regeneration and the healing time is also much faster compared to tangos/clarities.

Jogging; Running; Fleeing

Boots is pretty needed early for faster movement speed and chasing/fleeing.

Mid Game Items

A small boost won’t hurt!

Point Booster alone is gotten before mjollnir because it gives an increase of hp to survive better and mana to use CL more. It is also going to be completed later on.

Chain Lightning Heaven!

Mjollnir is gotten for the constant chain lightnings, the attack speed and of course the damage. Why Mjollnir over radiance, you may ask. Well Mjollnir is generally much easier to build than Radiance. Radiance also has great synergy with the ultimate, you may argue, but Mjollnir also has synergy with CL! Besides, the constant proc of CL allows razor to farm faster than the stable but boring immolation. The damage it provides does from chain lightning and mjollnir itself may not aid Razor as much in farming as radiance, but it definitely helps in dealing more damage. Last but not least, the active skill of Mjollnir, Static Charge, can be placed on your tanking heroes for more damage output. It also provides higher DPS.

Lvl25 Razor:
126 damage per attack
1.02 ias
40 magical dps

dps = (1+ias)/BAT*dmg
dps = (1+1.02)/1.7*126
dps = 149.7 dps reduced by armor, 40 dps reduced by spell resistance

With Radiance:
35 magical dps added
dps = (1+ias)/BAT*dmg
dps = (1+1.02)/1.7*(126+60)
221.0 dps reduced by armor, 75 dps reduced by spell resistance

With Mjollnir:
dps = (1+ias)/BAT*dmg
dps = (1+1.02+0.35)/1.7*(126+70)
dps = 273.2
magical dps = aura + (1+ias)/BAT*dmg
magical dps = 40 + (1+1.02+0.35)/1.7*40
magical dps = 95.8
273.2 dps reduced by armor, 95.8 dps reduced by spell resistance, as well as static charge (which is reduced by spell resistance).

I believe i can fly!

BoT is gotten of course.BoT is needed to win games, allowing you to teleport around the map to defend and attack. Besides, UH’s movement speed increase is also in percentage, which means that the higher the base movement speed, the more the increase of movement speed. With the recent buff in power treads, I see many razors getting power treads. However, it provides lesser movement speed and no teleporting ability which aids in his farming and pushing a lot.

IPB ImageIPB Image
[ 295(base movement speed) +85(BoT movement speed) ] * 110% = 418(rounded off) movement speed
418 movement speed - 380 movement speed(base+BoT) = 38 movement speed increase from UF.

IPB ImageIPB Image
[ 295(base movement speed) + 65(Power Threads movement speed) ] * 110% = 396(rounded off) movement speed
396 movement speed - 360 movement speed(base+PT) = 36 movement speed increase from UF.

IPB ImageIPB Image
[ 295(base movement speed) + 50(Power Threads movement speed)] * 110% = 380(rounded off) movement speed
380 movement speed - 345 movement speed(base+Boots) = 35 movement speed increase from UF.

So its clear that with BoT, the movement speed increase by UF is the greatest.

Late Game Items
IPB ImageANDIPB Image

First is was lightning, Now it is snow!

EoS is gotten mainly for its hp increase, some damage and the slow. With the slow it is very easy to chase down heroes and the hp can allow you to use frenzy more often.

There is a table (not by me) showing that EoS and Mjollnir do stack, except that when chain lightning procs, there will be no slow in that attack.

I am BIG and STRONG!
BKB is gotten after that because you will be pretty dangerous with the high dps with mjollnir, EoS and frenzy. People would choose to disable you first and with a BKB 10 secs of ownage is more than enough.Especially with the buff in disabling items such as gunisoo and euls in 6.50 surely many players will try and get them to disable you.

However, when you have Skadi + Mjollnir your dps is so high that you will be disabled/eulsed/hexed EVERY TIME. For this reason you MUST have a BKB. MUST, almost always a BKB will be 100% necessary and you must get it. After that build butterfly or w/e. But BKB is so good. They think it’s because of his slow, but it is in fact his avatar. I don’t know why people don’t get BKB all that much at all, but you should do. A BKB~ed razor is so horrible for the other team it’s beyond imagining.

~5b. Item Build II~

-====================================-
2Circlets + 1Tango+ 2Clarity Potions (560)
Empty Bottle (700)
Sacred Relic (3800)
2 Bracers (650)
Boots Of Speed (500)
Radiance (1550)
Boots of Travel recipe (2200)
Sange and Yasha (5100)
-====================================-

Total Cost: 14960 gold
Why This Build?
This second build provides better farming, better movement speed and a better supportive role. This build should be used when your team requires aggressive pushing or has no lack of a late game dps hero. An early rush of relic-radiance also aids a lot in farming.

Immolation is too strong early on to pass up, it’s always reliable unlike Maelstorm/Mjollnir, say like when you get disabled, and as a very strong chase/kite hero the DPS over time/chase/while not attacking is too good.

Early Game Items

IPB ImageANDIPB ImageANDIPB Image

Bracers?

Bracers are definitely gotten in this item build because the only hp boost will come when you get a sange, so bracers are here to boost your hp, allowing you to survive better.

Want a drink?
Bottle is gotten for the staying in lane potential which can allow you to farm very well as well as harassing.

What a lot of people don’t realize is that bottle can be sold. Essentially you are paying 700 for 600hp and 300~(?) mana every fountain trip. Bottle is much more cost efficient than tangos and clarities because it effectively only costs 350 gold (after sold) and has infinite amount of regeneration and the healing time is also much faster compared to tangos/clarities.

Bottle is now removed from the build. Check the alternative items for more information.

Wow such an expensive relic!

Relic rush is essential for farming. Firstly, it provides a +60 attack damage boost which will help a lot in your last hitting. Harassing will be a breeze because of the increase in damage too. Besides it will be later completed into Radiance to allow your farming to be even easier.

Jogging; Running; Fleeing

Boots is pretty needed early for faster movement speed and chasing/fleeing.

Mid Game Items

IPB ImageANDIPB Image

What’s that burning sensation?

Radiance is gotten because of the great synergy it has with SS. With Radiance and SS an entire creep wave can be killed in 6-7 seconds. It also makes Razor a better chaser with not only superior movement speed, simply by walking with the enemy it allows the enemy’s hp to go down by quite a bit. But why radiance since mjollnir is better? Reason being it helps A LOT in farming and pushing, which will in turn allow him to farm for other items faster than mjollnir.

I believe i can fly!

BoT is gotten of course.BoT is needed to win games, allowing you to teleport around the map to defend and attack. Besides, UH and SnY’s movement speed increase is also in percentage, which means that the higher the base movement speed, the more the increase of movement speed. Besides teleporting around the map will allow you to farm much better.

IPB ImageIPB ImageIPB Image
[ 295(base movement speed) +85(BoT movement speed) ] * 110%(UF) = 418(rounded off) movement speed
418 movement speed * 114%(SnY) = 477(rounded off) movement speed
477 movement speed - 385 movement speed(base+BoT) = 97 movement speed increase from UF and SnY.

Late Game Items

IPB ImageANDIPB Image

Yikes SnY sucks!

Not true. SnY provides good hp boost and damage boost to razor, makes him chase faster, and with razor’s fast attack speed, allows razor to maim constantly.

The extra agility/strength/MS%!!!/and maim can all be terrifying on Razor. It also doesn’t interfere with Skadi. BoT/Radiance/Skadi/S&Y Razor is nasty. You attack lightning fast, have immediate slow, and will often very quickly proc maim to get prey down to a crawl. Not only does it cripple their MS, it does a number on AS as well, so it’s good counter enemy DPS. Your MS permanently owns and your kiting becomes unequaled.
With the recent buff in SnY in 6.51, you will have 477 movement speed with BoT and SnY with a 14% chance to maim. Your fast attack speed supplements this because you will have a higher chance of maiming(not like anyone can escape from your clutches anyway). Maim slows both Attack AND Movement Speed by 35% for 6 seconds.

Luxury Items

IPB Image
Butterfly

Damn! Lightning, Snow, Big And Evasive?!
Butterfly can be gotten after BKB because of the increase in Dps and the evasion which allows you to effectively not take any spells/disable with BKB and physical damage from evasion 30%. This should be your main luxury item after the core build because the extra damage, attack speed and evasion makes you very potent. Combined magic immunity and evasion, it makes you very strong.

IPB Image
Buriza do Kyanon

Now What? Red Numbers?!
This can be gotten after the core build for the critical. With your high attack speed and damage, there will be bound to have a lot of critical hits. If you are having no problem with survivability this should be the next item after butterfly to heavily increase your damage output.

IPB Image
Assault Cuirras

Cool Armour Huh?
This can be gotten after butterfly too if you are using the Item Build II. This is because AC helps a lot in pushing because it gives your creeps an advantage over the enemy creeps. Besides, your entire team can have an added advantage with IAS and increased armour.

IPB Image
Hearts of Tarrasque

The Revenant Had His Heart Transplant!
HoT allows you survive better in team games and use frenzy more often. Without HoT it is quite risky because with disables you can die easily with frenzy on, but with HoT which increases 900hp it is safer. This should be gotten after butterfly or buriza only if you are still having problems surviving in team battles.

Alternative Items

IPB Image
Desolator

Let's Not Waste Orbs, Shall We ?
Desolator gives quite good damage and is cost efficient. If you really hate SnY that much you can consider getting desolator as an orb. On another note, if your team consists of many nukers so much that the enemy team mostly gets a HoD(hood of defiance) or BkB(Black king bar), Desolator can be a good choice because it amplifies physical damage so the “protection” they get from HoD or BKB is useless.

IPB Image
Lothar’s Edge

Grrr Where He'd Go?
With the recent buff in 6.50 for lothars, its cooldown is only 17 seconds and it allows razor to +42 damage. When lothar’s is activated it grants +20%movement speed and invisibility for 9 seconds. This makes you having almost movement speed equivalent to a haste rune every time you activate it. Besides it acts as a good escape mechanism.

Rejected Items

IPB Image
Power Threads

This Cheap Sneaker Is Nowhere Near Our Winged Boots!
Power threads is not bad, but it does not give the teleporting skill which allows you to push and farm very well. Besides, since UF works on a percentage bonus, BoT gives more movement speed so the increase from UF will be more useful than Power threads.

IPB Image
Eul’s Scepter of Divinity

Endless Mana!
Definitely not. I see some people suggesting this on razor because of the +movement speed it provides after its buff in 6.50. However the abundance of mana it provides is definitely too much and waste of gold.

IPB Image
Bottle

After Endless Nerfs...
In 6.51 it gets nerfed again.
Bottle now works as follows: Costs 600 gold, does not require mana to refill, auto-fills it when you are near fountain, rune refills it to full, resells at 50% like normal, purchasable at base only, regenerates less (135 hp and 75 mana) than previously, has no usage cooldown.
Its not as cost efficient now as compared to the past. It was only gotten for the better of farming for early-mid game. However now it is only purchasable at base. If you purchase it at the start you will be too fragile and a simple gank destroys you. Besides the nerfs in regeneration makes him regenerate very little, as 1 chain lightining costs 145 mana at level 4, which takes at least 2 uses of bottle to cover that mana. With its downsides from the nerfs, we’re sticking to tangos and clarities instead for item build 2, where your aim is to rush radiance in the fastest time possible

~6. General Game play Walk through~

Early Game
First off you have to choose/random Razor of course. If you have randomed razor you can get a chicken for the team or else if you have chosen razor just get 2 circlets and a set of tangos. Lane choosing is explained in the general tips section. As usual, last hit and deny. You can use these few techniques:

Offensive Chain Lightning Harassing- You can hit the enemy a few times and when he is turning to back off, use chain lightning because it has 700 range, 150 more than your attack range so in this way you can gain the longer range advantage.

Defensive Chain Lightning- You may be dominated by the opponents so you have to be defensive. While your bunch of creeps are targeting one creep, you hit another one to make the other creep’s hp also less than your chain lightning’s damage. Then chain lightning the opponent and it will bounce back on the creeps, gaining to creep kills as well as keeping your defense.

Observer wards- In early game chain lightning and bottle is how you gain your dominance basically. You can request your allies to buy observer wards and plant them or you can plant them yourself. Wards not only keep you safe from ganks, they also help you get a good look on when the runes respawn and you can go get them.

Ganks- However, in the case of a game(pub) when your allies refuse to cooperate or you just can’t get back to the fountain to buy wards, ganks may happen. When that happens you should play passive because you have no escape mechanism nor a skill to save your ally. If they are aiming your ally simply use a chain lightning and back off. If they are aiming you try to run if possible. If not just use a chain lightning and await your death. Thus calling missing and warding are important early game.

Runes- Runes can help you a lot. In fact they can help any hero a lot. For example dd can allow you to deal much damage even in early game.

Mid Game
At this point of time you should have 2 wraiths boots and ingredients for maelstorm. You can start looking for alternative lanes to farm in. Help allies if they are having difficulties in the lane, after all dota is a team game! A good balance of neutral creeping and farming and ganking is needed because mid game the chain lightning is at its best, while neutral creeping ensures you safety and farming in lane, of course to push and defend.

If you have gone for the radiance build, you should at least have relic now. Rush for radiance and start FARMING, everywhere and anywhere. It boosts your farming abilities so much that it is a waste for you not to farm. More farming techniques can be referred to the farming section below.

Team Battles- Although at this point of time you may have higher damage output, you are still fragile so you should not be too aggressive in team battles. Stand back and use chain lightning and land a few hits, praying for chain lightning procs. In this way you will not be focused too much. However if you are really focused on you can run faster because you are at the back after all. If you have radiance instead of maelstorm, you can try to allow the immolation to burn all the enemies, with one or two allies “protecting” you of course. This allows their hp to go down even before the fight starts.

Maelstorm Mechanics- At this point of time you should have maelstorm already. Here are the mechanics on how the lightning procs.

A hero needs an attack command for Maelstrom to proc. That can be one of 3 things:

1.) Press ‘A’, left-click on a specific enemy unit.
2.) Press ‘A’, left-click on the ground.
3.) Right-click on a specific enemy unit.

If your hero is in idle and an enemy walks into his acquisition range and your hero starts attacking, that’s an auto-acquired attack that will never trigger Maelstrom. Note that for scenarios 1 and 3, once that unit dies, your hero goes into idle again, so it’s best to quickly reissue another attack command (or shift-queue it).

Farming- Due to the recent change in getting BoT earlier, both builds can farm faster and easier. Simply look out for large enemy creeps and teleport to a safe allied creep there. It is advisable to use a chain lightning on the creeps for faster farming. A bit of pushing then may be good. Do not push too deep in this point of time. So there you go, simply teleport around the map farming. Quoted from JoMartin7:

Radiance’s damage can be estimated, and helps with farming, even for clearing creeps, since once Radiance and Storm Seeker (both of which have fantastic synergy by the way , way more than that mjolnir) wears the health of the creeps down, a simple chain lightning from Razor can just wipe them all out with one go.

Late Game
Mjollnir is gotten and this point of time. With this farming for BoT is a breeze because of the constant chain lightnings, you will not even need to last hit. With mjollnir you also can start to participate more aggressively in team fights. Check out who is the hero the opponents are aiming and static charge him, while using active chain lightning whenever you can and harassing with occasional chain lightnings too! You may net some lucky kills. After BoT is gotten you are expected to teleport around to defend and push. The real aggressiveness should be after when you got your EoS, providing higher hp, agility and slow. Have fun!

If you have gone for Item Build II, SnY should be gotten at this point, maybe even BKB. You should have significantly more damage than the enemies because you should be able to farm this up faster than anyone else. So you can start playing very aggressive, pushing tower after tower and trying to kill heroes since little can escape from your 455 movement speed.

Mjollnir Farming- This technique should be used only when there are no nearby enemies and you are heading home after this defence. Use this when there are large numbers of enemy creeps. Use static charge on yourself and tank the creeps. Chain lightning and normal hit. With the constant static charge and your chain lightnings you should be able to take out the wave very quickly.

Pushing- Pushing should be very quick at this point. With mjollnir farming+ BoT you can push lane to lane in a very short time. Just be careful of ganks because though you may not be too fragile, you still do not have an escape mechanism if you are alone. Thus it would be also better to push with an ally or two.

Team Battles- At this point you should participate much more actively in team battles because of your much higher hp and damage. Place static charge on your tank and hit as much as possible. You can even tank a bit on yourself if you have confidence in beating the opponent. Remember, do not hesitate at this point already. If you are fighting 1v1 an opponent on par of you fight to the end, because you have the chain lightning advantage. However if you really need to escape…

Escaping- BoT will help your escape at this point. If many enemies are charging at you and you are being completely surrounded, you can run into the trees and use BoT back to the fountain, hoping that by the time they manage to find you, you are already back safely. If not, you can use BKB for the magic immunity and teleport back to the fountain, which makes it safer.

~7. General Tips~

Chain Lightning Usage
Chain Lightning has a range of 700 so its pretty long. In this guide I teach you to make use of it early game, not for farming but harassing. CL should be used from Lvl3 onwards when you have lvl2 CL. It can be quite a pain to agility and intelligence heroes. Usually start clicking towards them where your attack range can reach him. Then hit him for a few times and his creeps will start hitting you for a bit. Then you should chain lightning him and move back. Just be careful if the opponents have any stun and/or too annoying nukes.

Calling Missing
Because you are not going back to the fountain until after a long time, survivability will be important. You have to constantly remind your teammates to call missing because if you farm in your lane too much opponents will come and gank you (personal experience). Thus calling missing is very important.

Razor 's Attack Animation
Razor’s attack animation comes in 2 parts actually. There will be a small red ball at first followed by a red lightning. The red ball deals damage. The red lightning does not deal damage. After you get your maelstorm/mjollnir, you will find that for some of your attacks will have no red ball nor lightning. There would be a invisible line of lightning but a visible ball of lightning when mjonllir is activated. I am not too sure about the reason myself but I am quite sure that there is still damage dealt and you still can hear the attack animation.

Neutral Creeping
Razor can neutral creep pretty well with his 2 area of effect skills, CL and SS. When neutral creeping big numbers of neutral creeps pretty much just hit a few times on each and when all of their hp each are lower than 300 use CL to finish them off.

Dealing With Difficult opponents
Sometimes we may lane with difficult opponents like tinker/Zeus/Lina. They spam a lot and make your life very miserable especially without a bottle. Besides, if you are soloing and lane with such a hero+ any other kind, there is almost no way for you to buy a bottle because of their pushing. In this way i recommend you ( actually not by me by banjkan3 too!) to do defensive CL last hits. Basically stay at the ranged creep(or further) and when a creep is ready to die with a chain lightning bounce, chain lightning a hero and it will bounce to the creeps, ensuring at least 1 creep kill. Otherwise just stay back and last hit as best as possible. Still impossible? Call for help!

Lane choosing

After many comments from the HGC judges saying that Razor should solo mid, I guess he should! Anyway he can solo a lane very well, because of his good range and harassing skills. If you are really unable to take middle, you can get back to the fountain in the fastest time(compared to the other 2 lanes) and get a bottle. Rune whoring is also made easy when in middle lane.

Frenzy Usage

Many players who start to play Razor may think that frenzy is a great skill and use it recklessly. In 1v1 situations, frenzy should be used when the enemy has used all his skills and thus the damage of the skills will not be amplified from Frenzy. Frenzy will then give you the upper hand. In 5V5 situations, Frenzy should be used when there is someone to help tank the enemies’ damage. However you have to note that you are still very vulnerable when using frenzy, because enemies may start to target you. So after a few hits if there are enemies charging at you, you should retreat a bit, unless you have confidence to triumph over the enemy.

~8. Good Allies/Bad Enemies~

Understand yourself and your enemies, win all 100 games you play.
Good Allies

Stunners

IPB ImageIPB Image
Get the idea? Just ask the stunner to stun while you spam. Simple!
Slowers
IPB ImageIPB Image
IPB ImageIPB Image
Same concept as the above. NEXT!
AOE Disablers
IPB ImageIPB Image
IPB ImageIPB Image
They can disable AOE so you can have a fun time trying to kill the enemies with either mjollnir or radiance, both which provides AOE damage. SS also does quite a lot of damage.
Dark Seer
IPB ImageIPB Image
Dark Seer has a special mention here, because with ion shell and surge he can aid you in chasing with radiance very well, ion shell’s 75 damage per second with Radiance’s 35 damage per second, it already deals 110 damage per second just by walking aside the enemy. If you somehow get slowed or stunned, surge also can help you catch up with the enemy very fast!

Bad enemies

Chain Nukers
IPB ImageIPB Image
IPB ImageIPB Image
These evil heroes do not give you any chance to show off your superior movespeed or use your helpful bottle. DEAD! But but another try is to spam CL as they usually do not have that much hp themselves either. Either that or ask for HELP!

Same idea as above, no chance of running or using bottle really sucks!
